The Villa Farnese, also known as Villa Caprarola, is a mansion in the town of Caprarola in the province of Viterbo, Northern Lazio, Italy, approximately 50 kilometres north-west of Rome. The villa is one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture, designed b y Vignola and built to the specifications of Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, grandson of Pope Paul III, in the sixteenth century.
