Description

The Ara Pacis Augustae (Altar of Augustan Peace) is an altar in Rome dedicated by the Emperor Augustus to Pax, the Roman goddess of Peace. After the fascist housing was removed in 2006, it is now housed in a controversial glass and steel structure in modern style, designed by architect Richard Meier.
