Madame Lucrezia, Palazzo Venezia, Rome

Description

Madame Lucrezia, one of the Talking Statues of Rome, in a corner by the Chiesa di S Marco and the Palazzo Venezia in central Rome. This is one of several disfigured statues where for centuries people have posted satirical messages, or 'pasquinades' - this is the only female one, and was probably a bust of Isis.
